In one word, what does Abu Dhabi mean to you? If home is your answer, we sure do have many stories to share. The Al Hosn Festival captured that, bringing together everything that makes this city feel like home, right from its rich history.

The ninth edition of the Al Hosn Festival took place from 25th January to 9th February at the historic Al Hosn site. The event was organised by the Department of Culture and Tourism—Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi).

Al Hosn Festival Theme

Every year, the festival embodies a theme that allows people to celebrate and experience the culture of Abu Dhabi and this year was no exception with the theme ‘ A Living Expression of Abu Dhabi’s Culture.’ The festival did not miss the chance to highlight artisans, Emirati performers, heritage activities, culinary experiences, and educational workshops. While these were the main ones, there were new additions made to the festival, which made the whole experience more unique than ever.

Al Hosn Festival Zones

This year, the festival introduced 3 zones: Heritage Zone, Craft Zone, and Community Zone. Each zone highlighted the rich culture of Abu Dhabi and was a gateway to the essence and spirit of our nation. In the Heritage Zone, visitors explored the story of ‘Bu Dhabi’ island, watched the Al Tcholeeb riders, and stepped into history at the Majlis Experience. The Crafts Zone invited them to discover the language of scent at Al Teeb and see the heritage-inspired design at Makers Space: Al Badiya Living. In the Community Zone, visitors experienced large-scale art, concerts celebrating the UAE’s vinyl age, and an immersive game on hunting history.

Al Hosn Festival Social Media Coverage

While these new experiences came together to celebrate what we call home, a dedicated team was behind capturing it all. The event was covered by one of the leading social media agencies in town.

The day at the Al Hosn Festival began at 2 pm, with everyone gathering at the marketing tent to prepare for their tasks before the gates opened at 4 pm to welcome the general public.

During those two hours, the team worked closely with the client, mapped out the event schedule, curated a content list, and ensured key moments were planned for capture. Amid the organised chaos, the team also took a moment to grab a bite to stay energised for the event ahead.

At 4 pm, as the gates welcomed the public, our coverage team was on the move, documenting every stall, workshop, event, concert, and visitor to curate engaging story content for the Al Hosn Instagram page.

At the same time, the content and editing team were on their toes, walking around with heavy equipment to capture the energy and spirit of the festival as it unfolded.

Among all of this, overseeing the entire operations, our senior account managers ensured a smooth workflow, keeping everyone aligned and no moment missed during the festival.

While the public gates closed at 11 pm, the team’s work continued behind the scenes, preparing for the next day. From the first capture to the final story, they wrapped up the day before finally calling it a night.

Social Media Coverage Recap

For sixteen days, the Al Hosn Festival marketing tent became a hub of work, laughter, and cultural celebration. Between asking “What’s for dinner?” and sharing moments like “Have you tried this dish?” we experienced our own taste of culture at the festival.

As the Al Hosn Festival came to a close, it was hard to believe how quickly those sixteen days had flown by until the lights went off. With the hustle and bustle of meeting deadlines, the last day of the festival felt like a true accomplishment.

And finally, a big shoutout to the entire team who brought it all together, your dedication and teamwork made every moment count at the festival.
